How to block distracting apps until a task is finished
A timer can expire while the work is still sitting there. A proof-based focus lock connects the unlock to the result instead.
1. Pick one task
Choose something you can finish in one session. “Write the introduction” is clearer than “work on my essay,” and “clean the kitchen counters” is clearer than “clean the house.”
2. Decide what finished will look like
Write a short finish line before you start. It could be a completed worksheet, a submitted form, a cleared desk, or a finished page of notes. This gives the proof check something specific to compare against.
3. Choose what to block
Done can block almost all apps through Apple Screen Time. We recommend selecting All Apps for the strongest lock, then leaving any app you genuinely need for the task available, such as a calculator, browser, or school app.
4. Start the focus lock
Once the lock begins, the selected apps stay restricted. Your task and finish line remain visible in Done so you do not have to remember what you committed to.
5. Return with proof
When the task is finished, upload a clear photo or file that shows the result. If the evidence matches the finish line you wrote, Done ends the lock and records the completed task in Progress.
If the proof is not accepted
Check that the upload is clear and actually shows the completed result. If the task was too broad, use a smaller and more visible finish line for the next lock.
